Lounging at home with my cats

Lately I've been cooped up at home which explains why the lack of updates because I haven't had any happenings worthy to mention. My daily routine consist of waking up, wash up, dramas, cats and occasionally drawing. It's pretty bland and I can't believe the contrast of just last month and this month having such a huge gap. Hopefully I'll have more stuff to do next month, I can't waste my time simply spending it at home watching countless dramas and anime.

That said, I felt pretty bad leaving my blog without any updates lately so here's a compilation of photographs I've taken recently of my cats lounging at home like me as always...

I couldn't resist the cuteness when he looked down like that!

Don't tell me you don't have a thing for paws. :3

This is Anko's new hideout spot. She's been sleeping here every afternoon since my granny came back from Canada in January. I guess she loves the quietness when my granny isn't in the room.

You know what cheers me up each morning. CAT PICTURES. I follow a few account on Instagram mainly for their cat pictures and the cats are just too cute! Moreover, they update so frequently it never fails me bring a smile on my face whenever I check out my Instagram updates!

Here are my daily cat vitamin:

I love how his photos are not about domestic cats, but cats doing their thing and having fun outside. It looks really natural and I love the ambiance in the photos. It's my favourite account. :)

Interesting photos of little things that the cats do which makes them so adorable! The owner has a dog too, even though I'm not a dog person, it's fun to see how the cats interact with the dog :D The cats are so beautiful too!

The owner has 4 cats and I love getting inspiration on how they photographed the cats' daily life. It's fun to see the cats mingle together too :D

If you like cats and plain white background photos, you'll enjoy these pictures. Those round eyes will capture your heart!

Maru & Hana
This last one is not an Instagram account, rather it's a blog of the cats Maru and Hana. They are pretty famous and has their photobooks released :D I first knew about them when I saw their photobooks at Kinokuniya. (^^)

It's one of those moments again. Mom came into my room and told me to do something bout my life. "Hurry and finish up your nail art course and maybe get a job!" she said. I had a reluctant look. "If you're not interested in nail art, why did you even signed up for it and make your dad pay that huge sum? And all these nail products lying around?!" Tears rolled down my face. How will I ever tell her how I feel.....

Just when I thought things have been going smoothly, something pops up of the blue and it strikes me at my heart. I've taken nail art classes since last year January and stopped after my teacher told me to practice at home and come for exams when you're ready. But once you've let go, you lose your interest. Maybe it's not even there to begin with, who knows why I even signed up for it in the first place? I'm silly I guess, I'm not even a girl who'd paint even the simplest one-tone colour on any of her nails no matter what the occasion is. Why did I even take up a nail art course?

Mom always tells me these things about how my father is unhappy with me spending money on these he calls 'useless stuff'. Yet, not even once he actually confronted me when things go wrong, not that I remember it... Every time when we're alone in the car it would just be a one-way conversation of me trying to talk to him. I do wonder, does he understands me? Perhaps as children, we might doubt our parents at some point too whether they really know us. Like how he ever talks to me about business related stuff or career stuff, it's like he doesn't care about other aspects in my life. I'm frustrated, yes, and I guess it leads me to isolate myself and escape into my own world. Just like how one of my cats hates crowds and refuses to let me carry her, I guess it's the same. I went to her, pat her gently and the this thought struck me, perhaps even when parents don't show you as much love, they do love you deep down.

People make mistakes, we go through failures to become stronger. It might be different for you and me, and for me, it somehow tends to involve sums of money each time. It's not like my family will suffer a lot even if I made mistakes like these, I guess God placed me in such a circumstance to let me grow, but that guilt, that guilt! It just makes me feel so bad. Seeing how my dad works so hard each day, many times sacrificing his sleep to earn a little more for our family, and how I'm spending away his hard earned bucks like this makes me feel so terrible. He's the sole breadwinner for my family of four and he has never stopped working...

College was a failure and now this nail art class too. And soon I'm off to Singapore and it'll cost an even larger sum this time. This is the burden I bear. This time I'll be living alone far away, perhaps that's the best thing to do too, I know I learn best when I'm alone. And it might be my last shot too, and it's got to be all or nothing.

I'm really grateful for understanding parents, I'm grateful that I know God and that makes me feel better. I do know I'm not alone in this and I know I have to go through this. I know when I make it through I will be stronger, I will be able to help others too, as similar like how I was able to understand more of the struggles of others who's going through what I've been through in life and the advice I gave them. I've been bullied, I've dropped out of college after one semester, so what's there to fear ahead right?

Thinking bout the message of Good Friday till Easter, I think it's not just about how Christ died on the cross for us, but it applies to how life is too. Thinking about His loved ones, Mary and Joseph and the disciples and many others who felt hopeless and sad onto his death, yet none of them recalled that He has said that He will rise in 3 days. We sometimes tend to focus too much on the current problems and we feel so disappointed and hopeless. We forget the good things around us, like the good message he has told them. But if we are to continue to look forward, we will know that there is a way for the good to come in the end, just like how He is risen on the third day. The tomb stone had been moved, the tomb is now empty. Stop looking into it and search for that sadness and emptiness for the good has come before you realized it. In fact, the hope has always been there with you, but you didn't realize it when you dwell into despair. Look up now and see that Jesus Christ has risen and he is hope.

Pardon my grammatical mistakes as I typed the first half of this with tears in my eyes. I do feel much better now after typing this out. Saying what's in my heart really helps to cheer myself up each and every time. I will go to sleep now. Good night :)

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4

{Review} Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Creamy Cheeks Blush 02 Cutie Pink

A few months back I won a giveaway from Arisa Chow's blog and I got this Heavy Rotation cream blush from her. It's been so long since and if you wonder why am I doing this review right now it all comes back to me procrastinating over and over again. At least it's up now so all's good right?

Cream blush has been around for a long time but I've never got myself one to try before. Prolly because I'm poor or you might say stingy because paying for one cream blush cost so much and it feels like it's piercing both my heart and my wallet so I tend to put them back onto the shelves. Besides, despite cream blushes giving you that natural blush look, they melt easily in hot weathers so it's not a to-go item. (And that breaks my heart too if the product doesn't work that well)

Long story short, let's get onto the review!

There are 3 shades in this product range and mine was shade 02 Cutie Pink. The product comes in a plastic tube form with 7g priced at RM33.40 on Sasa's website. There's nothing spectacular about the packaging to me, but I do like that it comes in a tube form so it's more hygienic.

With this product, it's a little goes a long way. With one tiny dot, it's enough for both my cheeks. It has a vibrant strawberry shade but it doesn't look too over the top when you apply it. To use cream blush, you should always build up the intensity of the blush with thin layers. Unlike powder blushes, you can't tone them down easily when you've apply too much. But if you really do need to tone it down a little, I find that using a cosmetic sponge helps to pick up a little bit of the colour, making it look less vibrant on your cheeks.

Cream blushes work best in colder climates. However if you're on the warmer region like me, I tend to layer the blush with my Candy Doll Strawberry Pink powder blush. Both shades are similar and I find that they work well together. :) You don't need to go over the entire area of the blush, just highlight wherever needs more intensity of the colour. This will help to set the blush so that it'll last longer even if your makeup starts to melt. :)

So who are cream blushes for?

Cream blush gives a natural blushing effect along with dewy looking skin. It's light and buildable and has some translucency in it. For people with dry skin, it'll probably work much better than powder blush as it doesn't dry out your skin and absorb away the oil and moisture on your face. And did you know that you can use it as lip colour or eyeshadow too? :) It's not a complete substitute for those products but if you're in need for a little colour on your face you can use it that way too. :)

I've done 2 looks to show you some ideas on how you can work your blush for different looks. :) Japanese or Harajuku looks tend to layer their blush heavily under the eye area so I first use the cream blush then layer it over with powder blush. As for Korean looks, it tends to be more natural and dewy so I used only the cream blush around my cheeks for a natural blush. There is a slight difference in the intensity of the colour among the two looks but that little difference makes a huge difference to an overall look! ;)

Fragrance - Chloé Eau de Parfum

Recently I've been loving this girly and sweet perfume by Chloé. It's not a new thing in the market, in fact I've seen in last year when I went shopping with my aunt and it probably had been on shelves even longer than that (?). All I know is that ever since I smelled it, I've been loving it so much but I couldn't afford it because I'm just a student and I don't work. I finally got my hands on this baby when my aunt brought it back from Switzerland last month.

As much as I love fragrances, I tend to opt for light and refreshing ones instead of heavily scented ones. Your choice of perfumes sends a message to people around you so depending on the occasion I tend to use different perfumes but this is my daily to-go one. It's said to have a powdery rose scent which I thought to be more of a honey scent (sorry, I'm not an expert in this field...). A downside though, the scent doesn't last long so it'll fade away after an hour or two which might be quite a problem if you're out for long hours, unless you're willing to bring it along with you all day long. :/

I wish I can let you smell it but I can't until further technology ever exist for such things. Then I guess we can have a food fest just sitting in front of our computers sniffing away, haha! (What am I talking about?!) Meanwhile, you can always pop by any Chloé counters or Sephora to check it out. :)

{Review} Geo Tri Color Green + 7729 Japan Style Eyelash

Saturday was Angel's birthday and it was our first time celebrating it together on the actual day itself (Can't believe we never celebrated it on the actual day all these years!) so I was really excited and spent time planning out my outfits and preparing her present. Just the day before, LoveShoppingholics sent me a parcel of a pair of lenses and eyelashes to review so I thought why not try it out the very next day since I'll be going out and that's always a good excuse for me to dress up, haha! To be honest, very long ago I had collaborated with them so I was really surprised when they contacted me because I thought they won't remember me after I changed my blog URL. This time I'll be reviewing on Geo Tri Color Green lenses and 7729 Japan Style Eyelashes. Do read till the end of the post too as there is a GIVEAWAY!!!

My top 3 circle lens colours are Grey, Green and Brown. Since I have both grey and brown in my 'collection' already so I picked a pair of green lenses. One thing I love about green lenses are how they look so vibrant and playful yet not over the top, looking too artificial. The design of these lenses are pretty natural and it blends pretty well with my natural eye colour, and it doesn't have a limbal ring which I don't prefer as I like my lenses to make my eyes look as if they are of that colour, which is what I've noticed of many style icons such as Ayumi Seto (Can you tell this post was inspired by her style? :P) or Alisa Ueno, has been wearing. With 14.0mm, these lenses are a little smaller than what I prefer (14.5mm) so enlargement wise they don't serve that well. However, they look good if you want natural looking eyes with a little colour change as these aren't as vibrant compared to some of the green lenses out there. In indoors, the colour is hardly visible but you'll notice a difference too but it really shows up when the sunlight shines upon it. :) Comfort matters when I'm out for long hours and I've always had a good impression on Geo lenses. However, this time one of the lens really bugs me as I can feel that it's there when I wore it but it doesn't happen to the other lens though. Sometimes it happens with certain lenses so it might be something you want to consider too. :)

LoveShoppingholics has also sent me a pair of lashes to review too. Although the lashes look really dolly and cute, they look really natural when worn. It has a clear band so that's a plus point and I love the cute design too, hehe~ They are natural looking not because of the design, but mainly the curve and the length of the lashes. These lashes are shorter compared to what I usually wear so it was something different to me but wearing false eyelashes will still give you that depth in your eyes somehow. :)

We went to Johnny Rockets at Avenue K for Angel's birthday. What's better than retro setting and burger meals? The waiters danced every now and then and we felt like we're in a different place. The music, the food, the dance, the setting, it was just too good. I was really excited to visit the restaurant so I wore a cute black dress matched with a red bandana and also tied pigtails that day! Which is something rare for me to do, haha! And I was really glad I got these lenses to complete that fun and playful look for the day :D

In collaboration with LoveShoppingholics, I will be giving away a pair of circle lenses OF YOUR CHOICE available on their website. Singapore March 2014 - Solo Travel

Supposedly I was going to just go down to Singapore for my interview at Lasalle College of the Arts but since I'm going there, I thought I might as well stay a few more days and explore the place. Not that I haven't done much exploration around Singapore, in fact I've been there thrice before this trip, except this time it's a little different as I'm going there all by myself. My first time travelling alone in 19 years! I think it's a huge achievement haha!

No doubt that the whole trip was filled with thrills, nervousness and new experiences. The bus ride itself had got me so anxious. Travelling along you face new challenges and with me thinking too much on the possibilities like bus accident or hijack (think of MH370) I made myself worry like a fool. I was there for 4 days 3 night, technically it's 3 days 3 nights as I arrived there around 8pm and I was really grateful that my aunt hosted me for that few days in Singapore. Along with my cousins, they helped me out so much to go around Singapore.

My interview was scheduled the third day in Singapore so having a day before that for myself, of course I went shopping lol! Got a bus to Orchard Road and I must say that bus rides still feel new to me despite riding it back and forth that few days.

Visited Innisfree at Takashimaya, no not for Lee Min Ho. :P I've always heard of Innisfree and how good some of their products are but since we don't have it here in Malaysia, I never knew how good they really are. The shop looks really nice and there are lots of products to look at and I got myself a lip scrub, face mask and Jeju Volacnic Steam Towel. :)

Look at how cute the packaging of their hand creams are! I didn't get them when I first visited but I went back the next day to get them because they were so cute! And my favourite was the peach one.

They have a huge selection of nail polishes as well!

Went into Wisma Atria next to check out their Isetan for Dip drops, Rosebullet and Collect Point. Photos weren't allowed in there so these were the only ones I managed to take before I was told not to. Items were priced beyond my budget thus I just went for window shopping only.

Took MRT to Dhoby Gauht to Plaza Singapura next. I made a list of places to visit before I went Singapore so I came here for JRunway and Etude House. That morning I posted a selca on Instagram and was responded by Vernice saying that she wanted to meet me. I was really happy but then she said she's got to work so I thought we might not be able to meet up. :( However, sometimes unexpected things happen as I went to Plaza Singapura where she was coincidentally waiting for her friend for lunch! Things were awkward between us but I'm happy to have met a reader all the way in Singapore! :D

Lunch at MOS Burger! This was another unplanned itinerary as I happened to pass by MOS Burger's outlet at Plaza Singapura and with so many people talking about how good they are, I decided to have lunch there. The buns were fluffy and the teriyaki chicken meat was just nice. Though I find that the fries could've been much better :/

The rest of the day I met up with Kelly where she brought me to Haji Lane and Bugis street. Haji Lane first, I've gotten to know this place from Kelly when she mentioned it in a video on how it looks like a Singapore version of Harajuku. Being a Harajuku fan myself, naturally I was attracted to the existence of this place and has always wanted to visit it.

There are a lot of quaint little shops there selling unique items. However the lane isn't that long so you probably can finish looking around pretty soon. Towards the end of the lane was shisha and drinking places but we weren't fond of that so we skipped it.

This was also where I got some of the socks in my previous post! :D

A really cute cafe! I love the gold chairs, they look so great! :D

There wasn't a nice background nearby except for that tiny wall space under the window of a shop so we squatted down for this picture. Oh the things girls do... Kelly was so cute by the way! Although our fashion styles are different we were able to click well with each other, hehe.

TaiMei at Bugis Street. Kelly brought me here as she said it was good. The portions look little but we were so full after that. We just sat down and chat about so much things and it was really fun to talk about stuffs behind blogging and sharing some Instagram accounts which had really cute pictures, hehe~ Congratulations to Kelly on the engagement too! :D

The next day was my interview so I didn't take much pictures except for my mini celebration dinner with my cousin sister. I was dressed a little differently than usual since it's some sort of formal thing so I didn't take much pictures of myself that day. I just didn't have the mood to since I was thinking about the interview more than pictures lol.

Glad the interview went well though. Before I went Singapore I got advice from my relatives and some friends and I was pretty confident that I can pull it through. But once sat down, the interview was rather different from what I expected as they shot us questions which needs lots of thinking. They had a group discussion on 'What Does Creativity Mean to You?' and instead of the general answers of being creative, they wanted something different, like a creative answer. Besides they also asked questions like 'What would you do if you face an art block/you can't get any inspirations?' and instead of what we normally answer like going somewhere different or doing something new, they want a creative answer, one which is different from the general ones. As it's a huge decision to study in an art school and be committed to art 24/7, they'd also ask you on whether you are ready for this or not.

It was pretty challenging and there were many times where my mind just went blank and I just kept praying to God on how to respond. Gladly, He's always there with me and I was able to contribute some discussion points. To be honest, I really wanted it so much I actually talked about how I wasted a year to find out what I really want to do to the point where I was at the verge of tears. (I don't mean you should cry to pass the interview lol)

So being a happy day my cousin sister brought me to Marche at Somerset 313. She said it was really good and I was ready to splurge a little to celebrate but instead she cleared the bill herself. Thank you so much! I feel so blessed to have a nice cousin sister like her hehe (^^)

Dressed up a little more girly the next morning for my younger cousin sister suggested that we should visit Gardens by the Bay. She's a plant lover so I guess it might've been an excuse for her to go there lol but I was happy to be there too for the first time.

We went to Flower Dome only due to time constraint as my bus departs at 3pm but it was really worth it. I got so many pictures there which I really love! Instead of paying attention on the flower knowledge I went crazy for photos instead. The flowers are so pretty and the place was very well maintained too.

This is my current phone wallpaper.

My first attempt on sneaky shots of people hehe...

Finally, my outfit of the day! :D I went for something more girly as we were visiting the flowers but instead of something floral I picked a polka dot top with sheer lace behind and a red skirt to match it with. Of course I was wearing my new socks too, haha! Please excuse the messy folds on my skirt too as I got it at Bugis Street and I wore it before I got to iron it.

Headband - Vintage item// Top - Forever 21// Necklace - Self item// Watch - Bangkok// Skirt - Bugis Street// Socks - JRunway// Shoes - Bangkok

Going home was much of a torture than going there. It took only 5 hours bus ride to get there but it took 7 hours to get home. The customs were filled with so many people that day and the highway was congested, for which reasons I will never know why. Can't get a proper meal in the bus but only biscuits and nuts. And my stomach was going nuts with the hunger and not to mention how much my butt hurts for sitting down long hours. What a way to end a trip.

That aside, I had a great time in Singapore. Travelling alone is not easy but I'm glad I had my relatives there and some connections I've made before I go there so I didn't feel as lonely as I thought I'd be. Everyday was something new to me and I felt much independent after the trip. I think I'm ready to embark for more adventures. :)
